Born in Cincinnati, 1936. Married in 1960 to Mary Ellen Brown. Four children: Catherine, Martha, Sarah, and John.

Art Academy of Cincinnati, 1955-1958; drawing, painting, printmaking, sculpture. Recipient of the Stephen H. Wilder Fellowship.
